Bike Skills – How to do a manual

The Manual (ndanger, flickr)Hi all on a great spring day in central Scotland! This is just a quick post to point you towards a great little series of guides I’ve found over on Bike Radar on how to do a manual. The manual is basically just a wheelie with no pedalling. It lets you flow over obstacles more smoothly and carry as much speed through as possible. Once you graduate from simply hopping your front wheel up and down to being able to hold it up in a wheelie fashion you can conquer the biggest of mountain biking obstacles!

Anyway, the Bike Radar guide is in 3 parts as shown below:

Enjoy and let me know how you get on!

Colin started mountain biking in the early 2000s and has haphazardly, and with barely increasing skill, dragged his bike around the majority of Scotland's trail centres since then. Colin has oodles of hard earned experience in how NOT to do things - listen, be warned and don't repeat his mistakes...   More about Colin... Google+ Colin
